Second day of February, second month of the year and my second blog. Coincidentally it was around this time four years ago when I first started a little fashion blog and couldn’t wait to post my outfits and pieces I’d been buying and loving. A lot happened at that time in my life (I’ll spare you the details) which meant I couldn’t keep it up, but… I’m back! For those who don’t know me, I’m Laura Reaney, a full time Junior Stylist and Film & Television graduate who loves all things film, photography and most of all fashion. I share some of my outfits and photography on Instagram, but wanted a bigger space to share all of that, so, welcome to my blog…
I’ve always admired red and bold statement pieces, from the classic lipstick shade of Marilyn Monroe, to the iconic red dress worn by Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, so when I saw this coat hanging on the rails in Primark, I couldn’t resist. I mean, you definitely can’t shy away in this coat, but I love how you can just throw it over a casual outfit and it instantly looks like you’ve made an effort (because who isn’t for an easy life, right?) For this outfit I paired it with my go-to western belt and black skinny jeans, Missguided studded boots and a plain white shirt layered under this Bershka AC/DC tee (which I have been loving!) I’m a fan of film and band tees and I think adding this with the silver details is a great way to dress down a tailored coat and give it a bit of an edge. Plus just by taking off the tee and maybe switching the shoes for a pair of heeled boots, you could easily create a more formal or evening look.
I’ll tag all outfit details and any similar items for pieces no longer on sale (if you can’t find the coat in Primark, I’ve found a similar one on Topshop and it’s on sale! Check the link below). So yeah, I hope you’ve enjoyed my first post, I’ll be sharing lots more fashion, outfits and styling ideas, with some film/TV related posts thrown in because they’ve always been a big inspo of mine. If that that sounds like something you’d be interested in, keep an eye out for updates on my Instagram and if you’ve enjoyed this post please let me know in the comments, I’d love to hear from you. Also just a heads up, I’m not really tech savvy and I’m still trying to get my head around the technical bit of blogging, so please bare with me on that!
